Shugborough Hall
Arrow were contracted to develop a renewable feasibility study into the conversion from fossil fuel to renewable energy. The study focused on the potential for a biomass district heating scheme at Shugborough Hall in Staffordshire.
There were a number of scenarios evaluated, the location for the boiler was specifically difficult. We developed a cost benefit for the scheme as well as developing drawings of the proposed boiler location and the district heating route.
There are significant carbon savings available, varying from 100 to 200 tonnes annually.
Key points that were considered for the proposed biomass have been the archeological and ecology aspects, which require detailed investigation. The electricity supply to the boiler plant, upgrades to the existing buildings in terms of extra heating and conversion from the electrical to district heating also required consideration. The existing buildings were evaluated to see if they could be utilised, this was the ideal approach to minimise costs.
